The administration is allowing students to drink, but it comes with limits. Students can have a 12 pack of beer or less than a half galloon of wine, and absolutely no hard alcohol is permitted. Students must also remain in their rooms while drinking.

Students can drink in any room in Julie Hall, but only in the rooms. Oddly enough students are unable to bring an open drink from one room to the next, but they can drink in each room.

Students are never allowed to partake in any sexual activity, which may be why students are not allowed to sign in guests while the alcohol policy is in effect.

Despite the hidden location underneath a Tedeschi shop at the corner of Comm Ave and Harvard, hookah enthusiasts or shisha cafe fans rejoiced when Habibi opened to the public just a few years ago.

Its relaxed atmosphere, pleasent and friendly service and its authentic music make this lounge a favorite for those who wish to unwind from a nerve-racking day at work.

 According to the kind of crowd present that night, you might even get to experience some live dancing,  and who knows, perhaps you too will be carried away by the soothing notes, or dancers.

Make sure to call and reserve a spot ahead of time especially on the weekends, Habibi is certanly worth the wait but considering its popularity among ex-paths and college students, I can assure you that it gets packed quickly!

Museum of Fine Arts

Musical Instruments Collection

465 Huntington Ave. Boston, MA

The first floor of the MFA holds musical instruments from Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and Africa from as early as the 17th century. The long room holds works of art from all regions of the world celebrating each culture’s form of sound and music.

The South Asian collection was especially interesting which included the rkang-gling, a thigh bone trumpet. It is from the 19th century and was created by an actual human thigh bone. A portion of the rkang-gling contains stitched skin and also decorated with colored stones and brass. All the instruments contained at least one very significant piece adding to their appreciation of music.

The exhibit does a perfect job showing you just how universal music really is without overwhelming you with too much information. It sets a nice tone for the rest of your museum visit.
